CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

No child abuse. No exceptions.

Last updated 6 October 2026

Chupke has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We remove it, ban the people behind it, and report them to the authorities.

Chupke is only for adults aged 18 and over.

What is never allowed

Anywhere on Chupke, in notes, wisps, chats, photos, games, usernames or links:

  • Any image, video or text that sexualises a child, including drawings, cartoons, edited photos and AI-generated images.
  • Grooming: building trust with a child, or with someone you believe is a child, in order to abuse or exploit them.
  • Sextortion: threatening to share someone's intimate images unless they send more, pay, or do what you say.
  • Asking a child for sexual images or messages, or sending sexual content to a child.
  • Trying to meet a child, or arranging for anyone else to.
  • Sharing, selling, asking for or pointing to CSAM, including links, usernames or groups elsewhere.
  • Child trafficking, or any content that promotes or normalises the abuse of children.

Chupke is 18+

We keep under-18s out of Chupke, because anonymous messages and chats with new people are not safe for them.

  • Everyone gives their month and year of birth before they can use Chupke. Anyone under 18 is stopped, and their account can't try again.
  • Chupke is rated for adults and restricted to adults in the app stores.
  • If someone seems to be under 18, report them. A single “Under 18” report hides what they posted until our team has looked, and accounts that belong to children are closed.

How we keep it out

  • Notes, wisps, chat messages and photos are checked automatically before anyone else sees them, and content that looks sexual or abusive isn't delivered.
  • Chats with someone new only open when both people agree, and we hold back messages that share phone numbers or handles for other apps, to make it harder to move someone off Chupke.
  • Anyone can block anyone, at any time, without the other person being told.
  • Our team reviews every report. “Child safety” reports go to the very top of the queue, and a single one takes a wisp down for everyone straight away, until our team has looked.

How to report

In the app. Every note, wisp, chat, message and game has a Report option:

  1. Open the menu at the top right of the note, wisp, chat or game.
  2. Tap Report, then choose “Child safety”. If someone just seems younger than 18, choose “Under 18”.
  3. Add a few words if you can. The person is never told who reported them.

Without the app, or for anything about a child, email support@chupke.app with the username or link and what happened.

Please don't send us copies of abusive images, even as screenshots. Sharing them is a crime in most countries. A username, link or description is enough for us to find it.

If a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first (112 in India and Europe, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK). You can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline, India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (or call 1930), or the UK's Internet Watch Foundation.

What we do

  • Remove it. We take the content down as soon as we find it or it's reported.
  • Ban the account. Accounts involved in child abuse or exploitation are banned permanently, with no warning and no appeal, and we work to stop them coming back.
  • Report it. We report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the police and authorities where the people involved are, including in India under the POCSO Act.
  • Keep the evidence safe. We preserve what the law requires so investigators can act, and only a small, named group can see it.
  • Help investigators. We respond to valid requests from law enforcement, and act faster when a child may be in danger.

We follow the child safety laws that apply to Chupke, including India's POCSO Act and IT Act, and the laws of the countries where Chupke is available.

Child safety contact

Our child safety team answers questions about these standards and how we enforce them, and takes reports from anyone, including people who don't use Chupke.
